IMPD Public Assistance Officers can provide general information on police related questions; take reports of missing persons, runaways, cases with no suspect information.

Southwest District officers provide uniformed field patrol and investigative services to the southwest area of Indianapolis.  With its headquarters building at 551 N. King Avenue, the District is staffed with approximately 190 sworn and 10 civilian employees and is under the direction of Commander Michael T. Spears. The District covers about 80.8 square miles with a 2010 population estimate of 136,680.
